After the extraordinary events of Rio a couple of weeks ago, we have some more astonishing spectacles in Rio again!

It's great to see peeps be their best - not only the accomplishment of winning against your peers, but the fact that you've likely had an 'unconventional sporting path' - via Hellmand, meningitis, genetic accident or another throw of the dice.

Clare Balding wins on non-patronising commentary, and whatever C4 pays Adam Hills, it is not enough.

Don't know what I'm so happy about ~ it's dull, grey, chucking down with rain, got a thorough soaking across the field ~ then I've got a shift at work starting at 8 .......

I'm with you susie, weathers horrible and I have to start work at 8.30 !! That's just unheard of. But it's good luckily with my job start earlier, finish earlier. It's only the second time this season the tenants have actually bothered to tell us what time they are leaving. So there's probably lots of times we could of been in cleaning before 10. ( they have to be out by then ). Hope to do something useful when I get home.

Hubby has just gone to get the fresh loaf, so it's boiled eggs and dippy bread. Any takers?
Work this afternoon, I normally quite enjoy a Saturday, especially if it's raining. It puts off people coming out and giving us stuff that should be in a skip. The stuff people expect you to sell. I would guess that 80% of stuff through the door goes to rags or landfill. Rags is ok, we get money for them.
Nearly turning into a rant, so will stop.
12 cards sold yesterday, so I have a job to do this morning to make some new ones. I'm not overly creative, but I seem to have a knack with cards.

Morning all, beautiful day here which is a miracle after yesterday's washout! Had a lovely time with our friends yesterday in the big smoke, lovely to see them again...it was April the last time we were together, ridiculous really as they only live an hour or so away.
Off out this afternoon and then hockey tonight so will catch up with everyone's news later. Hope you all have a lovely day.

Can feel a lazy wet Saturday afternoon is on the cards ....... still wet'n miserable out there... might use my large quantities of tommies to cook-up something tasty later ..........then again, might not - tomorrow is another day...!!!

Yes Bren, it's been awful here all day .........it brightened up about half an hour ago, so off I toddled - washing basket tucked under arm, peg bag in hand. And now I'm just sitting here wondering why I bothered .... It's going pretty grim-looking again now ....sigh, better get back out there and fetch it all back in ....

I have however, motivated myself to make a batch of beetroot chutney, which is simmering away nicely on the hob ~ smells delish when you walk back into the room ....

That does smell good Susie Sun came out here at four o'clock for half an hour. I didn't bother hanging out the washing and I'm glad I didn't because it clouded over again about half an hour later. Bookshelf cleared at the bottom of the staircase, most going to charity except for the books belonging to Himself. He will not be parted from them, even though he hasn't touched them in years. They're all sport of course. I don't know where he's going to put them - probably in the loft. Grrrr.
