  • Okey dokes, that's me done. Best wishes to Nicos for tomorrow - make sure that the weathervane of the event settles on 'fair to fun' not 'why the devil did we agree to do this???'

Weather is bl@@dy horrible, so I'm thinking another day making chutney.

        • Morning all Good to see you back GG

Yesterday was a washout. It just rained and drizzled all day. I could see loads of slugs slithering around the lawn so let's hope they've not eaten too much in the garden. Left me something I hope!

Made some tomato and onion chutney yesterday. 2 large pans boil down to just 3 jars - won't take long to eat those.

Today looks better so might get outside for a bit. Have a good Sunday
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

          • Morning all, bright but nippy start today.
As Marie said, yesterday was a total washout.
If it brightens up more, I have a few garden chores to do, slug hunting as well.
If we get the few sunny days expected, we will be on tomato glut again. Runner beans are piling up also, must cook a proper dinner today and use them.
I could also do with making a small stock of cards so that I don't have to panic if 12 get sold in one day.
            Have a great day everyone

              • Morning all...

                It's definitely chutney time...
I made 3 jars of hot chilli chutney last night and having tasted it, I am very happy with it...
                Also pickled some more jalapenos...

Nice morning here but strong winds are promised, so going to go out for a cycle as early as I can..Cuppa first though
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

                      • Morning all. Beautiful morning. When I got up at around 7ish it was sunny with a mist right across the Thames Valley, very pretty. Kettle's just boiled, anyone else ready for a cuppa? I've got biccies as well.

I'm going to have a quick spurt of housework before my youngest turns up to escort me out to lunch.

                          • Getting windy out there now, so thankfully I am sitting here having a cuppa after a 82km spin on the bike..Feel good after it...so good in fact I might have a couple of pints of creamy Guinness later

Think I will have another cuppa and then do a VC...no, not rabbit on;a walk around the garden for an inspection

                              • Good arrftnoon all What a beautiful day today has turned out to be after yesterday's miserable show...!

Did a spot of much-needed weeding about the place. Washing blowing idly in the breeze. Bees busy around the sunshiny bright sunflowers. Dog sleeping flat out on the lawn in the sun. Had to get two birds out of GH earlier, silly birds........!

Runner beans were rather stringy today, bit disappointed, must be coming to an end now.
Had a lovely roast beef dinner (even though I say so myself!!) with a cheeky glass of red.
And my first ever home-grown sweetcorn tasted like nothing I've tried before, so sweet and juicy. Worth all the heartache .........

Enjoy the rest of your lovely Sunday, folks...!
