What is best fertiliser to put in onion bed? I had bad results with manure

I use pelleted chicken manure. Lots of nitrogen.

I'm trying this method as I don't get as big a harvest as I would like
vitax q4 which doesn't lock the soil up. Also calcified seaweed. To each plant hole ill dust with mycorrhizal fungi and charge.
I got this info off a guy who grows champion leeks etc
