  • Stupidly over-excited adult, first year of growing veg

So, my teeny tiny tomato seedlings are now growing their true leaves.

I am ridiculously excited about this, I have never seen such teeny tiny 'proper looking' tomato leaves. They are so beautiful (to me.....)

Every time I go to the kitchen I have to sneak a peak and take a photo lol

Right, I've got that off my chest, I shall now grab my coat

I think that's perfectly right & normal! Every day when I get home from work the first thing I do is to go round all the windowsills and see how all the seedlings are

Ditto both!!! Not sad, it's exciting! Don't care what the non-veggie growers say!!

I even said to hubby earlier that the toms had enjoyed their day out, he looked at me quizzically as I explained that they had visited the greenhouse for the first time today!

Listen up Sarah, I TOLD my TOMATOES what a nice time they had in the garden today.
In fact I spoke to them every time I moved them round a bit.
Nothing wrong with a bit of excitement my dear, it's quite normal lol

Well, every time I walk into GH, I always greet my seedlings/plants with a cheery 'hi guys, how're you doing?' .... They've not answered me ... yet, although they do sometimes appear to be nodding wisely at me ....
I told the rocket and mizuna that is ready for picking that I would be eating it soon, then felt really guilty

They are all your babies...look after them and bring them up right and they will respect you back when they are older!......That's good parenting!

Hahaha that's me too! ''How's my babies? Everyone happy?'' Neil thinks it's hilarious but what does he know...he's not a gardener

Even my older 'grown up' plants in the ground get chatted to....just as well my plot is on the end and my neighbours are rarely there to hear me wittering on

Its perfectly normal to talk to your plants - especially the babies.

Oh My God, I only went out for the day and I come back to find everyone talking to their plants and seedlings.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
