  • Playing at being a tourist

Yesterday me and the other half had a day out and went round the island ( the long way ) for some reason we only took one photo so I've added links for you to look at if you're so inclined.

Our first stop was Calgary bay because it just beautiful

Then our second stop was just up the road to the art gallery. other half is considering putting some of his painted wood turnings in their. So we went to check it out to see if they would fit in with what's there before he asks

Calgary Art gallery Isle of Mull

Third stop was glengorm gardens. I was very excited about this I was hoping to chat to people/ professionals working with the same bit of Mother Nature that I do and get lots of tip and advice.
Very disappointed. Once we finally found the place ( for something so well advertised/ marketed it very poorly sign posted). And it turns out there are no gardens to walk round it's just a market garden. This was surprising because again at no point in there advertising dose it say market garden. It wasn't really a problem because that's what I'm most interested in anyway. Didn't see any one to talk to in the short time we were there. All I can say is there photographer is a genius . But what it did do Was make me feel very proud of my own little veg garden.
Just wish I could play with their 3 humongous polytunnles one of which is heated

Finally we went to Tobermory for our tea fish and chips. Personally I don't think there the best chips in the world. But it was take away, someone else cooked it so it's all good.

Ohhhh, looks like a good beach for tide running bass (up & down) with a good chance of some 'flattie bashing' during slack water

Sp, have you been to Lip na Cloiche ? Apparently it's well worth a visit & is near to Ballygown restaurant, homemade bread & pasta, only downside is no license but you can take your own

Thanks SP for the day out - and the fish & chips were delicious
Mull looks absolutely beautiful. Islands have a special magic that you don't find on the mainland. I love islands

Great pictures! We sailed to Mull years ago and anchored in the bay. We rowed ashore and the first place we went to was The Captain's Table for tea and cake, this was back in 1994 and often wonder if it's still there, it was magical. We also anchored for the night in Calgory Bay, totally unforgettable. Our trip ended here on the west coast of Ireland and it's where we stayed

Lovely picture. We never managed to get to the islands even when we lived up on the east coast. Sea looks such a lovely blue.
