  • Walking boots

    Hello

I like to walk around nature reserves and woods etc... I've been doing it in my standard shoes and paying the price for it. Not only are the shoes ruined so are my feet!

Does anybody have any ladies walking boot/shoe recommendations for a very poor student :|

I have a few physical problems that affect my balance, coordination and muscles/tendons/ligaments (all the good stuff) particularly in my ankles so require good support and a comfortable wide shoe. Also I'm a size 8-9 which sometimes limits my shoe choice!

    Maybe an option:
Search out Regatta Stanly walking shoes (yes they are spelt that way). It is a pair I made a note of to get when mine wear out.

The other is basically what I use, just no idea of the name. Bought them at Pavers, they were reduced and are somewhat of a walking shoe, and wide. The whole lot is manmade material, thing they were about £20. Could have been a clearance offer.

Will say another pair of Pavers I bought seemed good but totally wrecked my foot/toe once when used on a walk - around London. Lost a toe nail eventually.

Also look at a Trespass store, if one local, they seem to have a constant assortment of shoe offers.

Try go outdoors , trespass , even outlets for berghaus etc. I wear boots for work and forest track (heavy stone) dog walking (we go through loads) , have had all types, like berghaus ones myself as have orthopaedic insoles in, not sure for wider feet though. Often plenty offers on for boots.
      Northern England.

Do you live near a Decathlon? They have some good value own brand boots.

Men's shoes are wider than ladies, Norwegian ladies boots are wider than UK ones. I've forgotten who told me that but I do have a pair of very comfy Norwegian walking boots.
I usually look at Regatta boots first and they're not expensive.
