This is the bit I really don't understand, why do people think not wearing makeup is scruffy? Badly applied makeup is far scruffier than au natural every day of the week.
I agree but I was really referring to the rest of me! My mop of hair and my clothes which are usually a mismatched affair of all sorts and my shoes which I think I actually posted a picture of here at some point I think because of the odd laces, I wear odd socks too
Thinking about it I think another reason I don't do products much is that about 10 years ago I was having some annoying health issues and decided to cut out a lot of the unnecessary stuff. Have avoided parabens , SLS and various other potential nasties ever since in both food and beauty products. As a result the issues have disappeared but it does limit your choice of products too and it counts out almost every perfume, some of them are quite chemical when you read up on them. I've found when you don't normally wear scented products in particular, even a slight smell seems quite strong and distinctive. Might be just me though but it's probably saved me a fortune!

I have to get my hair cut every six weeks, I love a new hair do and like Bramble I do have a weakness, not for earrings but I love perfume. I wear perfume every day without fail, even when I know I'll just be gardening all day
I love a hair trim and also have a colour put on every 8 weeks, just makes me feel, well, me really!! And yes, Scarlet, I love perfume too - every day I'll have a quick spray - and depending on how I'm feeling dictates which fragrance I'll choose!
You'll always find me in dressing gown (pink/fluffy) usually doing boring chores as I see them (washing up, cleaning loo!! etc etc) and it has been known for me to be dressing-gowned-up whilst watering in GH.
I do draw the line at dog walking in dressing gown though!!! (would tend to get a bit muddy round the hem ........)

Ah. Now whereas I rarely wear make up I do have a thing about perfume and earrings. Noa, Light Blue, Chanel No 5, Eternity and Obsession. Sometimes Dune or Ghost.
I like silver jewellery and I have numerous pairs of silver earrings. I have a habit of taking them off in the evenings and leave them lying around. There are currently 3 pairs of earrings and 2 necklaces in front of me on the coffee table.

Haha, JanieB, I used to be like you with earrings in the days of extremely short hair, but now it's long I don't see the point in wearing them, as my mop covers them over!!!
I do like a bit of nourishing body lotion, rubbed into dry skin areas after showering/bath. Oh yes, and can't do without the good old GHD's as my barnet is super thick and wild 'n bushy if I don't use them!!! Bit like the wild woman of Borneo ....

My pampering amounts to baby oil onto wet skin after a shower or bath plus Boss aftershave....................................it tends to clog up my fur though................

And I lament the long lost days of being able to wear 'heels' (you too BM..??) as dodgy feet won't allow, so it's 'sensibles' for me these days ...
When buying shoes, I still like to look at the ones that are just nigh on impossible to walk in, just cos I can, although they're soon put back onto the shelf - there's always some young thing looking disapprovingly, at this over the hill woman daring to even touch those shoes ...
So these days, the highest heels I have are actually my good old wellies!!!

I do tend to get to the hairdressers every couple of months these days to get the ends tidied up (left it about 2.5 years between visits in my early 20s after moving house and not having a go to salon) but can't wait to wash it when I get home to get rid of that hairdressers smell. Not as bad as hospital smell but not far behind.

I think I'm one of those people who look a bit funny at anybody in heels but in my case it's more of a "why would anybody choose to contort their feet like that?". People can walk and move so much better and more naturally in flats or small wedges - actually on the one occaision I tried to put a pair of heels on I found it uncomfortable to even stand in them so movement wasn't an option . I assume you get accustomed to the pain but glad I've not put myself through that.
Sorry Susie, just realised I've picked on a few of your posts, not meant to be aimed just at you although this post is making me think about things I never normally think about!
