  • CCTV. I've come to the end of my tolerance

Does anyone on here have any knowledge of cctv systems. I've tried looking online, I would say it's all Greek to me but I speak Greek so I'd have to think of another analogy.

I absolutely know that one of my neighbour's is using low level bullying against me and I have no proof. So far in the last 6 years it has cost me between 3 to 5 thousand pounds. I think he's trying to drive me out but 1/ It's mine and my late partners house and I love it and 2/ It has been left to me in trust until I die, so I can't sell it or move anywhere else.

The only way I'm going to get this "person" off my back is to prove that he is the one causing the problems.

This last one was that I bought 2 bags of postcrete to mend a fence and put up my new clothes line. The bags have disappeared. The only people who could have seen them were 2 of my neighbour's, the nightmare one being one of them.

Have you thought of putting up a cheapo dummy camera, that might just deter said bully.

I have no experience of CCTV, however, it strikes me that if I thought that my neighbour(s) were a bit dodgy, I wouldn;t be leaving anything lying about that could be nicked!

Quite agree, but the bags are somewhat heavy and I hadn't realised that my son had left them in the ginnel until I asked him where he'd stashed them.

Nothing gets stolen from the ginnel in general as the gate looks like another front door. But today it was deliberately jammed open. The ginnel leads to 4 gardens, 2 of them not obvious to anyone. If the gate is jammed open my garden and my immediate neighbour have no privacy or security.

Unfortunately they aren't that heavy. My moan is how I deal with this bloke. He is genuinely nasty. In the last 6 years he's discharged his excess concrete on my garden and laughed at me when I objected, put a fence up on my land and against my conservatory stopping me from growing anything and blocking the flue to my boiler so I had no heating or hot water, sent my skip away by threatening the driver, he parks his lorry on the pavement right up against my lounge window, shouts at 5.30 in the morning to start my dogs off, has deliberately let my dogs out on to the road. There's more but you get the gist.

For £25, this doesn't sound bad. Just put a Micro SD Card in, you will receive an email if activated or you can view from your phone or tablet.

Sounds like you may have to involve the police.

I hope your flue is from a gas boiler.

If so and any thing like this happens again take photographic evidence and immediately contact Gas Safe and possibly the police.

His actions would be against the law and the results could be very serious as in lethal.

Sorry to be negative...but does he know your late partner's children?
They're not likely to be encouraging him are they?
Tis just a thought worth considering...sorry.

People that commit crimes undercover of night REALLY don't want to be seen, decent security lighting will see them look for another victim.

talk to an electrical company like Newey and Eyre, they may be able to recommend one to you. The slight issue is that you have to be careful where you place any cctv, check the laws on positioning but you basically can't film anyone without consent unless they are trespassing (I think).

I can't give you any advice I'm afraid but I just wanted to say how sorry I am that you are in this situation. It must be really horrid for you and I do hope that you can beat the bully xx

I think this sounds like quite a serious state of affairs - I'd suggest you go to see Citizens Advice to point you in the right direction - I / we could give you advice about cctv etc. etc. but there are bigger issues here. Maybe even consult a lawyer - what *you* do could have a negative impact on how things progress, though what you are doing would seem fair and reasonable to most. You should probably be thinking about the bigger picture rather than technical specifics.

                              There's a lot of info here: https://ico.org.uk/for-the-public/cctv

It sounds awful for you, and I feel the stress you're under in the words you're sharing with us

I have had similar but much milder issues with my neighbour. We share boundaries, and he's responsible for the fence between our back gardens. He refuses to build a fence that blew down, because he is nosey and wants to ogle when me and my daughter are sun bathing, have a chat when he wants and feels like a fence would 'isolate him'. He also used to step over the little brick wall and have a look around when I wasn't there, and sometimes would come and knock on my kitchen door if he needed to talk to me, rather than coming to the front door. Luckily most of these issues have been resolved, but I know how much it stressed me out
