Penalties are a very sorry end to a game ...... That fiasco yesterday between Germany and Italy, well - just leaves a sort of bitter taste in the mouth.....
Bring back 'golden goal' - think it was called, where if in extra time first to score wins.... much more fitting for the 'beautiful game' .......~~~ Gardening is medicine that does not need

On the whole teams were too scared of conceding so didn't push forwards so it was basically a waste of 30 minutes. Didn't they have something in between at one point when if a team was ahead half way through extra time it all ended or have I totally imagined that?Originally posted by Bigmallly View Post

If memory serves me right, I thought they had a silver goal. Same as the golden goal but instead of the game being over, they played till the end of the half even if a goal had been scored...............

I think they should scrap the 90 minutes & when the 1st goal is scored, the game is over..........................The tournament would be over in 3 days.............
