Last week, on the spur of the moment I decided that I would exit myself from the tinterweb.
Of course I had to use it for work but for play it was a definite no go area.
No Facebook, personal email, forums etc etc.
My iPad got put to bed.
To replace the internet I read some books (Joy Larkham!), watched a bit of TV (not much, hubby is football mad) and generally just relaxed as I would have done 10 years ago.
I lasted 5 days, during which I was quite enlightened. I've had a 4 month Facebook break before but never a break from the Internet in its entirety.
Those 5 days were great, I 100% concentrated on my life and not on a little touch screen. But, I have to admit that I need this little touch screen, I had to watch the news rather than read it, I had to actually phone someone rather than message them!
I'm not entirely sure where I am going with this but it was a good experiment.
