Floods in the South East

I have just got back from the school run
It took and hour and a half through flooded streets and gridlock.
We had to go by car because public transport is so disrupted.

And I am aware other parts of London like the South West have had it worse this morning.

So this is just to say I hope you are all okay, that even if (like mine) your plot is under water, I really hope that your homes remain dry.

And when we're sitting in the gridlock which is expected to be even worse for the evening rush hour.....at least we're not stuck in the 12 hour queues in roads around Glastonbury.

That really was some storm! Directly overhead at 1am - I've never heard anything so loud. And the lightening was incredible. Our train station was struck a few times so this morning all commuters were treated to train chaos.

Am going to the plot later to empty gravel trays, nothing more!

I haven't seen the news today - didn't realise the storm was so bad.

Sorry it's so bad down there. It seems to be rain from one end of the year to the other just now! Stay safe everyone!

Just to add, although it's no compensation, if that's the word, to those affected, but it seems to be happening all over the world! El Niño?!

Just got back from taking my eldest to work...autism does not recognise gridlock as a reason to stay home

The traffic has not abated at all, if anything its got worse....and its started raining again

It's just bonkers weather at the moment - going from one extreme to another ....
I consider myself very lucky today - it's warm and dry and overcast .....so at least able to get out and do something .....

The storm here at about 3am, by quarter to 5 I gave up trying to sleep and got up Front path and back yard wereunder water - luckily just below the sills Phew!

It drained away fairly quickly once the rain stopped, but it was touch and go for a while.

Same here in Rochester, I was still awake at 4.00, but at least garage not flooded this time, was under 6 inches of water last Friday!

I won't click 'like' Nanny S because its already horrible out there!

Dave's got an 'app' for travel alerts on our daughter's bus route. They just texted to say they won't be running this afternoon

Now got to figure a way to retrieve two daughters, ten miles apart, at the same time in total gridlock.
