Big rain, small thunder but as Thelma said, it blew over quite quickly.
More up there I reckon but three of us are at home and the youngest only a mile away at cadets and I live halfway up a hill.
Storms are fun to watch once me and mine are safe indoors

I just had a quick look at our local river, the Ingrebourne. It's technically in flood (the right half of the river is usually a grassy bank), but it's well contained and no property is threatened. I hope everybody else is as lucky!

Having experienced the misery of being flooded three times in the past (problem now remedied) my heart always goes out to those people you see on the news who have to go through the whole process of regaining their homes. I so hope all of you down there have "weathered the storm" and are ok, even if your lotties or gardens are a bit soggy.I work very hard so please don't expect me to think as well!

It was horrific yesterday round here. I go to an exercise class after work on a Thursday for 1 hour. It was cloudy when we went it but dry and epically flooded when we got out. I was freaking out slightly as every road I drove down was deeply flooded and cars were stranded everywhere so I had to turn round and go back a few times. I eventually managed to pick my way home. Thank goodness for my sturdy Ford Focus, it got me through some pretty scary floods and I was so relieved when I got home that I burst into tears. I guess this is global warming for you and we should expect it. Ironically I had to go to Lottie to water the plants in my little plastic Greenhouse as they were bone dry!
