Great news Jonny even though I don't understand your reasoning................

Excellent news Very pleased for you.
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

That's great advice! Beautiful flowers, given with sincere intent, you can't go wrong there.

We don't know your circumstances so can do little more than speculate (and it's none of our business anyway).

If your time is the issue, then ration it but make it count wherever you are. If it's that old chesnut money, some of the fun in allotmenteering is being both frugal and productive. Anyway I glad you have decided to continue and long may you continue to enjoy it. Flowers and fresh produce can make a good impression on non gardeners.
