We don't know your circumstances so can do little more than speculate (and it's none of our business anyway).
If your time is the issue, then ration it but make it count wherever you are. If it's that old chesnut money, some of the fun in allotmenteering is being both frugal and productive. Anyway I glad you have decided to continue and long may you continue to enjoy it. Flowers and fresh produce can make a good impression on non gardeners.
