Leaves not quite right though - puzzled by serrated edge?

Are they single deeply lobed leaves or are they several separate leave blades? Any differences to the colour of the top and bottom of the leaves? what are the leaves like to touch (hairy, sticky, smooth)?

I *hear* that the varieties available today are more potent than those of yesteryear - whatever that means - but the plants look the same - (I'm led to believe) - so I'm pretty confident on that 'score'.
I've just shown the photo to Mrs Balders who has confirmed its non-illegality... (she has a bit of 'history').
I'll have to go up to the site tomorrow to try and answer some of the more serious questions posed byJay-el.
We do have some dodgy characters on site - at least 3 police that I know of...l

My first thought was some sort of hellebore, they often have serrated edges and reddish stems. Or a variety of euphorbia?Comment
