just for your information,i have just been onto sky to find out why whatever I type into the search box I only get redirected to sky film sales etc, for over a week now. it turns out that the sky broadband page now only offers sky products and nothing else, if you want broadband you have to go to google/chrome/ bing/ firefox etc as sky no longer bothers to connect you directly to the internet so what are we paying for? murdochs wedding reception?, certainly not for the service we signed up for, so the brexit scamming has started?...

I didnt even know it was possible to go through Sky! Its not really a browser... use internet explorer / edge / safari / chrome / firefox and you'll probably find it better all round!

Sold by Amazon - you plug it into the hdmi socket on your tv (most tvs sold in the last 5 years or so would have that) and you can think of it as then having a little internet connected computer attached to your telly - you can the access Iplayer and other catch up tv over your wireless (if you've got netflix / Amazon Prime you can also access those). You can also mirror things from your phone or tablet to the tv. Other things are also available which would theoretically allow you access to anything that is on the internet whether paid for or not, but I couldn't possibly comment on that.
Believe if you are an Amazon Prime member you might be able to buy on e for £19 tomorrow .

I got as far as plug it into the HDML on the back of the tele and my brain went...............soggy.

Will look into this and the prime thing you said about as I am fed up with paying extra for new customers to get the rewards.

Be careful with Amazon Prime as I think there is an annual fee of £79 if I'm not mistaken.

Edited to address the insightful BM - yup you have to be wary of the Amazon Prime thing - if you use amazon a lot its maybe worth it at full price - there are some decent tv programs and movies etc. and you get faster delivery options and so on.
A lot of people sign up for a month's trial and then cancel - getting the benefit of the reduced purchase prices - I couldn't comment on the morality of that.

Anyhow - Chromecast / Roku / Amazon fire and various android tv boxes are alternatives to Sky subscription...
You should probably do some research - I'm hankering for the Amazon Firestick as I've got Amazon Prime already.
