  • Weed ID.. please help!

I have these plants keep coming up everywhere.. raised beds, lawn.. everywhere!
They do look a little similar to a neighbours plant..

Can anyone I.d the plant and let me know if it is the same plant my neighbour has, is it likely to be suckers or seeds!? Thanks!

I don't recognise the shrub though it reminds me of a viburnum.
Your seedlings look a little similar but not identical. Have you dug one up to see whether its a sucker or a seedling?

My first thoughts is some kind of plum? They sucker everywhere...but it could be a cherry.

I distantly recognise it too but that's not a lot of help. Try digging some up to see if it's come from suckers or seeds, then see if the RHS can help out. Does your neighbour have an invasion as well?
I work very hard so please don't expect me to think as well!

                  I'll investigate tonight!
I did let one grow on once and it was tall, and had what looked liked a purple flower bid coming, then I needed the raised bed and dug it out!
                  I'll have a furtle tonight!

                    Yep, they're suckers..

If I weedkill them, will it kill the mother plant!? Digging up patches in the lawn isn't really something I want to do!
But equally I'd rather not finish off the neighbours bush!

                    Some piccys of the mummy...

Can you run a spade along the neighbour's fence, to sever the roots?

Possibly some of it, but it runs alongside my greenhouse..which it appears the roots go underneath, then under a path onto the lawn..

Suckers of any plant need to be 'torn' away from the parent plant. Cutting through them with a spade will just cause more suckers at the cut point.
You could kill the suckers with a contact, non systemic weedkiller (even vinegar) without harming the parent plant.
