And this was in a working class area in a 'deprived' neighbourhood. I love anything that gets kids reading. I do read the HP books and get the jitters if Terry Pratchett doesn't manage 2 a year.
I know what you mean about Terry Pratchett. I started with his books many years ago and soon caught up to the latest editions. I now spend my time waiting on the next release.

You can spot the point that I caught up because the majority of the books are hard backs, I cannot wait for the books to be published in paperback anymore. Anyway its one of lifes pleasures reading a good book.

Saying that I have never read the HP books even though we now have every copy in the house. My 10 year old son has picked up Order of the Phoenix to finish reading after seeing the film at the weekend. Also I just bought my wife the final one which arrived at 9.30 Sat morning, and I ordered it the Wed before.

How about a rain party? Organize a bit of cover to eat under, but get out and enjoy it?

Same here! All the first few are paperback, but as I've caught up with them, they're all hardback. A couple of the more recent ones are also signed.

Sadly, when I went to see the great man himself, all that came out was "'Ello....fanks"
