'BBC brings in new Gardeners’ World presenters as Bake Off boss takes charge' - and we will get hour-long episodes from now to end of this year's run - and not a mention of 'soggy bottoms' or 'munching on carpet' (last night's GBBO episode!) anywhere in the article.

The comments to the linked article seem pretty critical. But in general I like what I've seen of the new co-presenters and who knows, the doubling in length may mean twice as many good bits. I only ever watch after the event so that I can skip past any really annoying parts...

It's got to be said I like Beachgrove on YouTube better so I can skip the boring bits, never looked to see if all the Gardeners World episodes go up there as well.

It's good it's getting a bit of a shake up - some of its programming appears to be done by rote. Look forward to seeing the new format (on iplayer, for the joy of skipping!).http://mudandgluts.com - growing fruit and veg in suburbia

To be honest the revamp doesn't fill me with excitement, the odd slot on exotic gardening is tube but not sure I'd want it as a local feature. Personally I'd rather have some stuff about things I can relate to. The comments section on the article are worth a read though, some hilarious comments.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Always think of GW as more of a "coffee table book" show - lovely pictures & lifestyle features and a little bit of practical stuff, whereas Beechgrove is joy larkcom "how to grow your own veg" - not as 'pretty' (although I love Jim mccoll)but full of practical useful info. There's a place for both, & it's on my TV
As others have said, there's always the fast forward button....Another happy Nutter...

I think that GW. is fine they try to cover all aspects of gardening, for people who like growing flowers they might find any veg related articals boreing and vice versa with veg growers, personaly I woould take an other hour of GW instead of TGBBO but again I would rather have more Beechgrove Garden as I can relate more with that weather wise and places to visit etc.it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.
