  • Good morning Folks, a lovely morning sunshine wall to wall, hope to get into the garden after church, if I stay in the house it will be "could you do this or do that" all housework connected, and I try to avoid that well enjoy the day whatever you are doing,
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

    • Yey!....sunny here too after a wet and windy start!
Looks like I'll be in the garden later on after all

Taxi services done ( friends to the train station)
Supermarket shopping completed ( yes!.....we finally have a supermarket open on a Sunday til noon)
Windfalls picked and chopped and simmering away so I can make some more chilli jelly.

So here's a question....do peeps prefer chilli jam/ jelly made with just apple juice or with a small amount of vinegar?
Does the vinegar one last better?

Looks like I'm going to be multi tasking today....plus we have a lovely dog watching our every movement!

      Have a great day peeps.....

      • Domestics for me too.
My gardening season is at an end, so just general chit chat for me as usual
Daughter is coming for Sunday dinner of lamb today. Just her. GG is with her Daddy and the Boyfriend of the moment is fishing in France. So, for the second Sunday on the trot, we are wanted.
She still hasn't sorted out any travel insurance despite us making sure she had the money to pay for it, so that is job number one today for her.
I have a loaf in the Breadmaker and a chocolate cake in the oven, her appetite is back as the bi polar low disappears. She's a painful stick, so needs feeding.
Phew, that was a lot to say, sorry folks
        Have a lovely Sunday

        • Sounds like a chocolate cake will be just the thing for your daughter, Nanny I wish I could have some

Still on my diet. Lost 3 pounds which is good but still over a stone to get down to a healthy weight. I had a very big craving for Nutella yesterday when my daughter wanted it for her sarnies. I so nearly caved in as I was spreading it on. But no, have to stick to this as I don't want to end up with diabetes if I can help it.

Gardening helps take my mind off eating. Been out and got rid of some more spent tomato plants today and had a good dig. Preparing ground for next year. Should be much better.

OH hasn't caught on that the wide bedding area I asked him to cut all along the side of the lawn is actually the 4th raised bed I asked for which he refused. So I asked for a bedding area instead which he just thinks is for flowers - sneaky I know. But now I have lots more room for growing veg next year

Hope everyone has a nice day. Off to collect leaves now for a brownie project.
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

And here was me thinking the crafty bit in your name was for handicrafts, I would never do anything like that to my wife but then men don't do things like that

Yes, crafty in more ways than one, Rary! I only asked for a small raised bed as well - the border he dug out was twice that size Perhaps he should have just agreed with me to start with!

                      • Evening folks!

Well I have finally finished the attic room which concludes the Big Cat Deep Clean.

                        Attic room before:

                        And after:

Every single item in my house in the last few weeks, room by room, has be considered for it's merits, cleaned and returned (or not); all cupboards cleaned out, lightshades dusted or washed, pictures dusted, skirting boards wiped, furniture moved (and cleaned), carpets vacuumed and carpet cleaned. phew!

I am now ready to consider four-pawed addition(s) to the household.

                        • A very good evening all

Well I survived the '50th Anniversary Ball' ........

I even kept my 'heels' on ALL evening .......! I didn't trip myself up on my long frock ..........! And I don't remember(!!)doing anything that I should have to hang my head with shame at tomorrow morning at work .........!
(It has, however taken me the full day to recover from copious quantities of alcohol I swigged last night ................!
My knee has swollen up and my feet are 'crippled' ~ getting too old and rickety to be dancing/drinking into the wee small hours ....... I did have fun though...!!! )

We had a lovely meal out late this afternoon with big son, future DIL and her family (I was on Diet Coke... for obvious reasons!!!)
So a busy non-garden weekend for me ....... must find some time for clearing/tidying beds soon ...!
                          Night!

                          • Good evening Folks, it was a nice day today with plenty of sunshine, it did start off very cold and I think if I had got out my bed early enough I would have seen frost, but hey I don't need to get up early at the weekend, after church I took my wife out for a meal and yes I paid, when back home I was in the greenhouse where I have started to set up a propagation bench, I had been thinking that I would do without one this and just use a small heating tray, but have changed my mind, so I will get it setup and and start off some salad leaves, I am thinking of trying BMs potato tower on the hot benchmark give me potatoes for Christmas or New Year, so I suppose I better get them going as quick as possible. Well I wish you all a good night, have a good week, and Susie I hope you have recovered from you dancing, and imbibing, try taking it easy, when celebrating 50 years of work it can take a lot out of you Goodnight
