  • Morning all

Not too bad here; no frost yet anyways....

Cycled home yesterday evening and back into work this morning; not so enjoyable in the dark, but it's 80km done so that is a positive.....
I only realised that I told my neighbour who has started running I would do 8km with him tonight Tired legs on the way
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

    ...utterly nutterly

    • Imagine the weight of that Scarlet!

Morning all, chilly and dull this morning. Not sure what's on the cards this morning but you can be sure it won't be exciting!

Spoke to my son last night from the USA, he is shattered. Working 15 hours a day, constantly on his feet wondering why he is feeling so tired. Then he said maybe it's because I'm getting old (he's 28). Wish I was that old again!

Have a great day all. Hope your cold is better soon Snadge!

                      • Right, I've done a quick catch up so I'll try and remember who said what. MoM's aren't allowed colds so how did you get yours Snadger?

I bought an adapter, then the next problem was that the electricity goes off when I take the room key out of the slot so my phone and iPad still can't charge. I mentioned this to my electrician son who told me that the card just pushes an ordinary switch so anything that slips in the slit will do, even a piece of cardboard. So that's sorted.

Nannysally, travel kettle, my next purchase. I've been travelling all my life, both in Britain and abroad and this is the first hotel I've ever stayed in that doesn't provide a kettle. It has a microwave with no instructions. I finally worked out how to start it but it takes 7.5 mins to boil a mug of water for my tea in the morning!

I was given a form to fill in last night about my opinion of the holiday. The forms questions were very biased towards what they wanted to hear and in general I went along with it. I had a major problem with one question which was "Which of these holidays do you prefer to go on?" The options were : Summer : Easter: Christmas : Short breaks : children's school vacations. I could have answered Summer as the closest honest answer, but to be quite honest, I don't holiday by season so I wrote across it "None of these, I prefer to holiday when the children are at school." Unfortunately, my friends and I hadn't accounted for European half term being different from UK half term. I don't hate children, just not keen on badly behaved ones, and you always get a few.

Back to gardening which is what this forum is about. I gather mine is well on the way to being cleared so I'd better start looking at greenhouses.

                        • Afternoon all - requested another load of planings today but due to a punctured tyre driver could not make delivery till tomorrow - however, I have always been lucky and today was no exception - received a phone call to say that the cheque I had sent for the first delivery was in the bin and there was no need for a replacement also that today's order was on the house as well so a saving 0f £200 to the Society.

Funny you should say that. All was going well until the tiler said he wont be able to come tomorrow but will come on Friday. We were all set to finish up on Friday night but now we will still have work on Saturday.
Hopefully it wont roll over into next week.
                            Enjoy your break Nicos.
