Yes! Escaped to the beach yesterday after work for a swim!
When it got dark we ventured back to the car thinking it was 9ish.. only to find it was 7.55pm!

I feel it has crept up on me far too quickly. It feels peculiar with this incredible heat and then it goes dark so quickly. Patio doors are still wide open to get some cool air through.

I hate the dark evenings. I am just not ready for Autumn and the looming winter.

I now have to go veg picking in the dark for dinner with a head torch after the children are in bed. Doubles up ad slug hunting time...

It seems both mornings and evenings are drawing in double time, though it's lovely to have sunshine this morning.

This time next week it's the autumn equinox and day/night will be the same length. By that weekend the night start drawing in and at this mid point in the cycle the rate of change is rapid and noticable.

So a change of 2 mins a day or Qtr hour daily total a week!!! That eqautes to 1/2 hour a month each end of the day.
                  Bye Bye Summer.

I love the dark -no sunlight reflecting off the layers of dust, no sunlight showing how dirty the windows are, too dark to fill out forms...................bring it on.

7:40pm, Vega will be just appearing overhead, followed by Altair and bit below it then Deneb. Then you have the Summer triangle made up. Arcturus will be the bright orange one lowish in the West.

Yeh anyway, enough about your swingers club Kirk - some of us are a bit more concerned about the days getting darker.
