I agree that the 'pointy' should have pride of place over the fireplace at the GR.

Like many others I have had a poke in my squiggy bits every now and then but remember VC you were always fair and that is a very rare and wonderful thing in this day and age when self promotion, one up man ship and self interest seem to be the motives for many people (not on here though - phew) these days.

I don't have any plans as such - just need more me-time!
My Mum's 96 and needs carers daily, I'm selling a house, have 4 "puppies" and a half acre garden. Even though I think I can do everything, I can't, so the only "sensible" thing is to give up the things that other people can do - that's the VSP and Modding.
Sorry its been a bit sudden but I knew that if I said I was "thinking" about going, I'd be persuaded not to - and I'd be back, struggling to keep my head above water.
My apologies to my fellow Moderators for my sudden departure but it had to be done quickly before I weakened
I'll probably still "moderate" in spirit but have no buttons to press - so you're all quite safe

Oh goodness, I've just noticed this thread - very best wishes for your retirement from modding VC, though I hope you'll still be omnipresent on the forum. Massive thanks also for running the VSP and the current flower circle - like all things which appear to run effortlessly I know a huge amount of work goes on behind the scenes to make it happen. I don't know whether to be pleased for you or sad for us!

In my short time here you have always been the heart of the vine to me (no offence other mods, you do a fab job too ) and it will be strange to have you as one of us.

As with the VSP though, your retirement is very well deserved and I hope it means you have even more stories for us than ever before. Oh, and more challenges too, we always need more challenges!

I've always been "one of you" really. Most Grapes didn't know I existed until I was plucked out of obscurity to run the VSP 4 years ago. Then the bright lights of the Mod Stage beckoned and before I knew it I was surrounded by seeds and pointy sticks and the reputation of being a chatterbox
Anyway, I've enjoyed my first morning without a pointy stick and have been spending my free time cleaning the kitchen
