Epic fail on that tonight, Nicos Nearly squashed Sam cat in the dishwasher door. As I lifted it up to close, it turned out that he was underneath exploring the gap between the open door and the plinth. He made a terrible noise and fled.

No lasting damage, and he's talking to me again. Just.

I felt terrible - but as my neighbour blithely pointed out 'well, he won't do that again, will he?'

Meanwhile, his sister managed to end up face down in the buttercream I'd made for the sponge cake. Life is not dull around here, at any rate!

No lasting damage to Sam cat following The Unfortunate Incident with the dishwasher. He is back to his slightly timid, but cheeky self.

And if find that I have no laces when I put my trail shoes on for next weekend's cross country race, I shall know who to blame...

They've been here ten days, and they are settling in well. They've explored the whole house now including the attic room...
