Cad, I certainly would not hand them in to the police. I would do a little research, maker, dates etc you may well be surprised how much some knives are worth. Label them with the info and possible price and leave them to someone responsible in your will. There are many collectors out there who will pay decent money for the right article in good nick.
I was surprised to be offered over £500 for the one above, I couldn't sell it of course because of the history.Potty by name Potty by nature.
