  • Maybe not one of my better ideas.

Last time I was out shopping I decided to buy crackers for Xmas Day and I saw some of the flatpack DIY version where you get the hats and jokes and the crackers with snaps to assemble yourself.

Remembering previous years where in the grand tidyup I always find the mini scissors, mini tape measure and other assorted presents among the wrapping paper I thought "What a good idea I can put my own presents in that people will like"

    The problem!!!!!

My mind is a blank. What little cracker sized gifts do I put inside suitable for old people (male and female)

    Any ideas please.

I got some of those too, mainly to ensure small children didn't get anything they could choke on .

What about homemade Christmas tree decorations, miniature toiletries like lip balm, travel sized toothpaste for trips away, bath bombs, or edible treats like whisky miniatures, posh wrapped sweets or chocolates (truffles are quite easy to make yourself if you prefer home made)?

It depends who they are for.

If they are for close family how about getting some heart shaped beads from fleabay and wrapping them inside bits of paper that you have written 2 or 3 line sayings on them

Mini torch for men, embroidered hankie for ladies, small cigar for smokers, seeds as NG says, for the gardeners, pretty or funny keyring, hand written recipes for cooks, if you want to spend more, then maybe cufflinks or tie pins for the men, a pretty piece of costume jewellery for ladies.

Don't forget you need to make distinction between the crackers, either by putting names on each, or doing different colours for ladies and men, so everyone gets what you wanted to give them.
