        Look at the clothes in the Mapp & Lucia series - I think that's around the right period. Plus they are just wonderful.

          In the 1920s there was a big move by women to look boyish or manly with short hair, trousers/suits. That opens up warm and comfortable options for you. remember it's just after WW1 and people were very much after a change in the world they saw. You could get away with a Tux and a long cigrette holder with your hair tied back and slicked down.
