  • Plot hunting in Scotland

Just about to set off for a three week dream holding tour of the north east of Scotland (anywhere from Inverness to Wick) looking for a house with some land.

Planning to make a move next year to get away from teaching and do something for myself until I get old enough to let the kids look after me (ha).

My question is - do any of you grapes who live up that way have any advice, recommendations, warnings that I might take heed of in the next three weeks? It would be good to meet up if it could be arranged!

Setting off on Tuesday with map, tent, 2 dogs and, oh yes almost forgot, OH.

Good luck Digger! Don't suppose you will be coming this far north though.

Digger, if your serious you might want to look at this one. Maybe not as far north as you're suggesting, but on the right coast for you. At offers over £165000, with 14 acres by separate negotiation, it looks good to me. In case the link doesn't come up it's for sale by Thorntons Solicitors and eastate Agents, 32 Holding, Tealing, Dundee, DD4 0QZ. Hope this is of some help.

Hi Digger, drop into the visitor centre at Forsinard station if you're passing, I'm usually based in the office over the road but would be great to meet you if you're around - hardly get any visitors up here!

Nick ! Why didn't you say you were coming to Scotland. It would have been great to have you. I can undersatnd why Mrs G started on these love affairs. Watch out for the competition. You might end up north of the border.
