  • Tesco Voucher scam via email

Hope you don't mind me posting this....

Tesco email scam doing the rounds.

They want you to follow a link to fill in a form in order to receive free vouchers.

Tesco's have just confirmed to me the one I've received is a phishing scam.

    Please warn others.

    Cheers.

It is a very basic design email, but some might click.

They post the voucher links all the time, I delete them rather than open them. Any emails offering vouchers, or anything cheap or free, are treated as spam and deleted.

What do they say - if it looks too good to be true - it probably is!

You can tell at once if an email is a scam by hovering (NOT CLICKING) over the link. The website address comes up bottom left of your screen. If it's a scam you don't see a recognisable website address (e.g.Tesco.com/......etc) it will be an odd or strange name.

I get really fed up with continually having to block supposed mail from superstores, that all seem to originate either in the Phillipines or USA.

And I noticed it all started when I signed up to Linkedin (my BIL invited me). At first I was hit with 50 or more A DAY! Soon unsubscribed to that, and seem at last to have whittled down the numbers without having to go through the process of changing my email address and all the rigamarole that involves.

        Endless wonder.
