  • MT's Xmas poem.

    Santa's tumbled down my tree
    Because he had a G&T,
    Then he had another one
And thought "By Jove, it's lots more fun
Than trudging out in rain and snow.
I'll tell my Sat-Nav where to go.
I'm sick of wedging in chimney flues
And dry mince pies give me the blues.
How on earth can you feel jolly
When your bum gets pricked on boughs of holly?
    Now Rudolph's got the rheumatiz.
Can't pull the sleigh. Can't do the biz,
But don't feel sorry and don't feel sad
    Because I'm feeling rather glad.
Now that I am getting older
A weight's been lifted off my shoulder
'Cos all the presents that you get
They've all been bought on the internet!

And, now MT's made a rhyme,
        Just before it is time,
        To get cooking,
        For hours on end,
For any family, pet or friend.

But, will she get a extra prize,
For saying Santa hates mince pies,
        Or, will she go without,
For claiming Rudolph's pulls in doubt?

Of course not because you see,
        I send a 'like',
        As a gift from me!

Aw Lumpy - you have made me chuckle
But now it's almost time to knuckle-
Down to finalising all my plans
Including washing up the pots and pans.
Because my husband does the cooking
He leaves a place one dare not look in.
          I haven't finished dusting yet
Or polished, hovered, wormed my pet
But, do you know I do not care
Because we're blest with Xmas fayre.
We've got enough to last for e'er
So Lumpy, here's some hugs for thee
But please, don't fall down your Xmas tree!
I work very hard so please don't expect me to think as well!

            Miss Mousetrousers likes to rhyme
So glad she doesn't do it all the time
I could become a bit of a chore
I've said enough I'll find the door

              Twas the day before Christmas,
              And all over the Vine,
              People were laughing,
              And, starting to Rhyme.

              MT had done it,
              Twice in a row,
And now Cad been and done it,
              And give it a go.

              But, for anyone reading,
              Our daft little lines,
I hope you'll smile at this hardest of times.

                Twas the night before Christmas,
                And all through the house,
                You could hear Mrs Bee,
                Beginning to grouse.

                My feet they are swollen,
                My legs they are sore.
                I am feeling so tired,
I could sleep on the floor.

                But now I have finished.
                The work it is done.
                The family come tomorrow,
For a day of festive fun.

But till then my feet are up,
An Irish coffee in my hand,
                I am the happiest woman,
                In all of the land.

                So snuggled on the sofa,
With a glass of festive cheer,
                Merry Christmas to all
And to all a good night.
