  • Lemon grass

I forgot to bring in my lemon grass and the leaves have died back and are brown. Is it dead, or is there a chance it may recover if I bring it inside now?
How much cold can they stand?

I've no experience but I'd bring it in & although the rhs website says minimum of 5 degrees,a couple of other web pages say in colder climates the leaves do go brown when dormant & to prune all the brown leaves back in early spring. I put my plants on my windowsill,a few stems have gone brown,I've just trimmed it back a bit, hopefully the roots are all alright.

I'd bring yours in and give it a chance. I think its tougher than we think.

        Thanks for the replies.

In it comes then! I've plenty of windowsill space at the moment.

Don't hold your breath, I've always found them to prettty tender and killed off by any frost

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Both of mine died suddenly indoors. Fine one day, keeled over the next. I think I might not bother again with them.

Well, it's got two chances now. It can either grow or die. I'll give it a couple of weeks and if there is no sign of growth I'll bin it. I think I have a few seeds left to grow another, or else I'll get a supermarket stalk to grow.
