  • I don't usually have a rant but I'm a bit annoyed tonight. If a neighbours football breaks the whole flower truss of my rio grande tomato plant,it'll just grow back won't it,maybe a bit more of a delay but I'm getting annoyed with their balls keeping on coming over, what's going to be broken next, except their ball

    • I came on here feeling quite angry, but on reading back I realise how fortunate I am.
      My rant
After several years of use my hose reel has started to leak, the hose had been replaced a couple of years ago but now I have a bad leak where the hose connector fits in, the E clip has broken, have tried to get a replacement but none available so decided to replace the hose reel, reduced from £89 to £36 and for the rubbish I have its overpriced ar £36. Its well named as the hose locks if you do not pull it out straight, then trying to rewind is a nightmare. So much for buying a branded product

      • Architects who don't inform their clients of their legal obligations under the Party Wall etc Act and then go on to produce drawings that are absolutely rubbish. No drawing numbers, the post code of the property incorrect, elevations that don't tie up with the plans, no sections drawn where they are needed for clarity, no account for the proximity of trees taken in the foundation design as the soil is clay, taking all the lateral restraint away from the rear of the building forgetting that at least a picture frame will be needed and will protrude into the room, I've listed 12 errors and omissions and that's without really trying!

After 43 years dealing with their rubbish you would think it would no longer annoy me!

        Wrong.

        • The lovely Juicy Labrador died in my arms this morning..............it only took a very small amount of that terrible injection to set her free from the pain of grinding arthritis and end stage mammary cancer.

My rant - people who don't care enough about their animals. The woman, notice I won't use the term 'lady' who had her as a breeding machine must have known that open ulcers, weeping lumps and noisy hips were not normal........................shame on her.

            • Watching RHS Hampton Court Flower Show, which I have visited in the past, and enjoyed, my rant
Why are there no RHS shows in Scotland, and yes I know they tried a show up here in the past, which I attended, but their admission charge for up here was ridiculous, and before they say there are not the numbers up here to justify holding one, the Glasgow Garden Festival was one of the best attended in Britain
Also why no RHS garden up here

                      • Very poorly, old puddy cat, he's been with us 18.5 years and has had a wonderful life, walking miles around the neighbourhood everyday. These last few days he's barely eating, struggling to get his breath if he moves too quick and just wanting to lie under a bush in the garden. Got the vet's mobile number on standby if he gets any worse and everything crossed that the steroid injection he had earlier will ease him. He's not in pain but looks fed up the poor thing. Me and OH are in bits.

Edited to add that I suspect I'm very glad that the cat deterent thread has been modded as feel I'd find it particularly offensive today

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

                          • LD cheat, get a cheap 110mm angle grinder and use thin masonry wheels, practice on a couple of broken tile bits and use for curved cuts etc.

They're eye watering down here! £27 for a member today. They now charge members £5 for the few shows at Vincent Sq.
If it wasn't for the OH I wouldn't have gone. Much rather spend the admission money on plants.
And as for refreshment prices £2 for a coke is well OTT. I wondered what Pimms tasted like but at over £7 a glass I'll keep wondering.

                              • I'm definitely on this thread now. I bought a rotovator 2 years ago but have only now had occasion to use it so have never opened the box until today. Having collected it from the shed I find the box has been opened (not by me). The screws/bolts that hold it together and the instructions are missing. Now really p1$$ed off.
