    • We used to have a volvo v50 which was great, & have just got (6 months ago) a subaru outback which we love.

My rant - went to eldests assembly this afternoon - all about what they've been studying in history. Topic was the 1980's!

I'm not even 40 & am a part of history already
      Another happy Nutter...

The fact I can't think of events that would make history - culture/ fashion yes, history I am stumped. Even more so if it is only British history

          • Still no internet!!!!

Getting annoyed with Virgin Media. Been over a month now and they still can't sort my internet out. Going to phone them Monday and tell them either sort it out by end of the week or I am going with another internet provider.

Those same people who then go on to spend a year or so doing 'just enough' to prevent them getting kicked off.

                  • Dear kitties. I would have appreciated it if you had let me know beforehand that your latest must-play game was to pick grapes out of the punnet on the worktop, knock them around a bit then abandon them (a bit soggy and bitten) on the floor. That way, I wouldn't have stepped on one earlier and nearly slipped and broke my neck.

Also, on the subject of picking things up and putting them somewhere else, I've found a few odd things that have been dropping into my handbag (your toy mouse, a curtain hook); but sadly for you two hooligans, not your best toy EVER yellow bouncy ball. No doubt it will turn up under the fridge/freezer/settee as per, in due course.

                      • I need to hire a van for tomorrow. I've bought a dresser on ebay that needs collecting. I've used the same hire company for over 30 years with no problems. Ring them up, they say what is available, don't need your details Mrs B as we still have them on record, or if I'm not driving just add other person as additional driver.

Not now. They've gone online. What a nightmare. One of my sons and my daughter are going to do the collection. So I was doing the booking and the paying and they were the named drivers. Their website doesn't allow for the payee and the driver to be 2 separate people at 2 different addresses. They now deliver the vehicle so you have to hang around until they turn up. There is no way of asking to pick it up or schedule a delivery time.

                          • ^^^^^^^^^i've rented from them as well. I try to support local businesses but if they no longer provide the service I'm used to they will lose my custom. This is still part of the same rant.

                            • Dear Polly cat. I appreciate you posing with my produce, but don't think that you have a career as a model ahead of you. This is not so much 'making love to the camera' as 'beating up the camera'. If you can't be more helpful than this, shove off out the way.

And whilst we're on the subject of being 'helpful', your brother is no better.

                              • Anyone else noticed that it's fine and sunny all week then the weekend comes along and pi**es it down for 48 hours, only to be replaced by crisp sunshine on Monday morning? I know it's a cliche but it really seems to be holding true at the moment... and here's Accuweather's forecast for this week:
