Supermarkets that make their bags smaller so you have to buy more,I never want to buy a bag again but sometimes I forget to take bags, they used to supply boxes years ago when I was young, there's probably health & safety laws against that with food nowadays. Sainsbury's have made their bags a lot smaller,I had to buy about seven the other day so I'm going to not shop there for a month or so,they won't be getting 35p from me again for a long time!Location : Essex

Dear Universe,
Please forgive me for contacting you without an invitation but I thought that you may have mislaid my record of trying to be good to people, animals and the earth.
This would explain why another bombshell has been sent to me this morning.
I respectfully would like to point out that Poppy Dog has always been a good girl. She has never bitten another animal including a human. She has always offered companionship and tail wags when they were most wanted.
I know her eating dead mice whilst on her walks is unsavoury but she is a labrador.
Did you really have to make her blood test results so bad?
Did you really have to prove that she is going into kidney and liver failure?
Please look at her records since puppyhood. I'm sure she does not deserve this.
Kindest Regards
Crying Lumpy.

2 rants. Number 1 as above re Lumpy and Poppy dog. 2 when I were a lass Bonfire Night was Nov 5th. It wasn’t extended from a week before Halloween to a week after the 5th. I’m sitting here cuddling 2 terrified dogs and this has been every night at this time for several days. Don’t get me wrong, I like fireworks but not every flipping night for 2/3 weeks."I prefer rogues to imbeciles as they sometimes take a rest" (Alexander Dumas)

Rant no. 3. I went to my she shed to fetch 3 Kilner jars to make sloe gin. When I got there the shelf it was bare. Message to my daughter where are my jars? Answer...what? It was a load of empty jars. I chucked them. You can always collect some more.
I don’t have the heart to tell her they are about £6 a time new. Sigh. I’ve ordered 3. I will look out for second hand ones for jam and pickles."I prefer rogues to imbeciles as they sometimes take a rest" (Alexander Dumas)

My youngest's girlfriend decided to give him a surprise party last night. His birthday is next weekend but he's arranged to go away for it. He rang me 3 times during the day and I had to lie to him. He thought he'd upset me and I was being shirty with him. The party was fantastic. It was an absolute hoot.
The 2 things that spoilt it for me (slightly) were: 1 His girlfriend chose wines that neither myself or my daughter liked. She took a consensus and most the women liked wines rather on the sweet side. So my daughter and I decided to buy our own. I was first dibs at the bar and took £20 with me. More than enough for 2 glasses of wine. Noooooo. £23.50. I paid by card. 2 I couldn't eat my meal because it was unbelievably salty. The bloke next to me said the same but managed to finish his and the chap opposite couldn't eat his steak until he'd held it up and scraped the seasalt crust off it.
There is a big thing about too much salt in processed foods. If you like food salty you can add it, if you don't you can't take it out. So why do chef's think everyone likes salt.
I've watched the TV chef's say "and a pinch of salt" as they chuck about a dessert spoonful in. bleuuugh. It's not the first time I've refused a meal in a Michelin starred restaurant because of the over use of salt."I prefer rogues to imbeciles as they sometimes take a rest" (Alexander Dumas)

I'm feeling a little shattered after a weekend of dealing the Mrs C and having to wake up my daughter to help em get her back and forth to the WC. The HNS 111 service which took hours and hours on the phone, not knowing if I was still connected, when finally I get to talk to a doctor we get disconnected twice and I end up going through the system again after her not phoning me back for half an hour.
Then they sending me to chemist about 20 minutes away and not sending the prescription, back on the phone to 111 answer all the same bleeding questions for Christ sake give me a reference number when its a follow up call
We sent it half an hour ago, Chemist says it didn't arrive and the only way to ensure that it comes is to stay on the line with them and have them tell you it's going through their machine on their side.
So I keep the call center handler on the phone, he is also on the phone to the doctors surgery until they told me they were putting in through the machine and I could see it coming out the other end.
So I put the phone down on 111, Then the chemist does not have it, I can't just take the prescription to another chemist it has to be sent via 111 service directly. I ask why they did not check that the chemist had it in stock, answer they never do that!
back on phone to 111, answer all the same bloody questions again There is another all night chemist in the next town we can send it there
Are you going check they have it before you fax the prescription to them,
Ummm No
Well I suggest that you do because I could be doing this all night its taken me over seven hours to get to this point and I could be travelling the length and breadth of the country phoning you back and you sending me to the next chemist that may have it.
Put on hold - no music no bleep nothing but the time on the mobile letting me know that I'm still on hold 16 minutes later disconnected
Phoned 111 again, repeat of all the same questions, OK hold the line, I inform them that as they record these conversations please pass up the line that music or someone saying you are a valued caller or something just to let you know you are still connected would be useful and most welcome. I ask him to let me know once in a while that I am still connected, OK I will do that, it never happened
16 minutes of silence later, we have checked all the local chemist and no one has it in stack we will re open your wifes case and get a doctor to phone you.
Drive home to wife
Doctor calls, You really need to get her back to the consultants
Me thinks "No Manure Sherlock" Yes that was I'm going to do Monday when they are open
I can give her something stronger for the pain short term and I have checked the chemist has it
OK (lots of words go through my head that would get me expelled from the forum if I wrote them)
Back to the Chemist and finally 12 hours after the 111 process started I had something better for the wife.
I still had to wake up my daughter halfway through the night to help me get the wife out of bed, Just had breakfast and sitting here waiting for the wife to wake up and then I will have to lift her on my own, I'm just really hoping my knee holds out
