Wasn't expecting to have time to drop in today, but my day hasn't gone quite according to plan, so here I am.
Mr Snoop has dug another bed for potatoes. My hero!
The first of my tomatoes, courgettes and lettuce have germinated. And I've sown some shallot seed.
Now about to finish some work, then walk the dogs and maybe do a bit of digging myself.
What a great day I've had. Hope you all have too.

Evening all.
I see other people are avidly watching/checking seed germination as well! I don't know why I'm willing all mine on because I've no idea where they are going if they do grow - it's a long time until the last potential frost still.
Miserable weather. Chucking it down. On the plus side getting lots of reading done. Just finished a book all about garlic today which was very good.
Tomorrow looks more promising so fingers crossedLOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

Nearly all my tomatoes have germinated, most of the peppers both sweet and hot. None of the strawberries, squashes, aubergines etc. But there is still time. The seeds that have germinated are in a heated propagator the others are on a window sill praying for some sun. I might move them to a table next to the radiator, since I've had to put the heating back on, and hope the children warn me before they turn up."I prefer rogues to imbeciles as they sometimes take a rest" (Alexander Dumas)

Nippy but bright here. I thought there was no frost this morning till I went to open up the cold frames. No frost anywhere except right where the cold frames are. Not sure if this is a one-off or if it really is a regular frost pocket. Very unexpected. Don't want to have to move them again!
Anyway, day ahead is more paid drudgery, then digging, then yet more paid drudgery, with lots of cups of tea and a bit of lunch somewhere in between. Coffee first, though. It's decaff if anyone wants to join me.
