  • Monsoon style rains on and off all last night and today with beautiful warm sunshine in between. My daughter came over today to continue sorting out my garden. We've now dug about a quarter of it. The huge and ancient rose bush in the middle of the garden has been dug up and will be relocated somewhere more suitable. We need to sort out a large and multi trunked viburnum but it will have to wait as there are birds nesting in it. I can't put up my blowaway until then.

Nightmare getting rid of huge roots from the schumach that used to be next door. We have now found the back wall of the kitchen that used to be across a yard behind the house. This is when we stopped digging. It was raining again anyway. The bricks will come in useful.

It was odd that after all that rain the soil was only wet down a few inches after which it was dry. Just goes to show how much we needed the rain.

I've had to scrub my kitchen floor as it looked like a swamp. I'm now sat down with a large g 'n t and wondering what I'm going to eat as I've had nowt since 6.30 this morning and I can't be ar$ed to cook.

      • Evening all!

We've had a lovely weather day today - lots of rain overnight, glorious sun all day, and then a short heavy shower after we'd come in for the day. Bonus!

Hope all are well and behaving

          • Good evening, it's been a mixed day weather wise here today, I let OH take me out for lunch, I drove she paid, and was passing through areas of showers and areas where the road was dry, in fact I was standing in the greenhouse of the GC where we had lunch and the rain water was washing down the roof and yet when I went out the front to my car it was dry, once back home I decided to remove my hot bed from the greenhouse to make room for growing tomatoes, I really need to get them set up as the fruits are forming on some of them, I also spread some seaweed round the base of my cabbages and put some of it into a container to make a seaweed tea, oh and I emptied comfrey tea from the container first and happened to get some splashed over my shirt, which made it a bit pongy and when I went in the house I got ordered back out, so I hosed the shirt down and I have left it outside to dry, I was also order to have a shower as she could still smell it, I asked for some assistance to ensure my back was cleaned, but that was declined, I was told to take a cold shower to take the heat out of it, I didn't know comfrey could heat up. Well time for bed enjoy your week try to keep up with the garden requirements, and have patience, by the way, VC I see vixy had a wee reminder for you. Goodnight
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Yesterday we had a beautiful day. Out in the garden most of it but this morning is another story...it's chucking it down! You can just hear the grass saying ahhh...time to grow! Well it will give me a chance to get on with the domestics I suppose!
Hope you all have a lovely day whatever the weather and best of luck to Mrs. Cad at the hospital!
