      • Morning all. Really really wet here today so no work for me. Instead, trying to get a plumber to service the boiler, off to bank some cheques, domestics, & start doing my accounts for 2016/17 - fun

French lesson then beach this pm if it's stopped raining by then.....
        Another happy Nutter...

        • Been busy this morning. Water up from the well and into barrels, as I'm going to be making a big push to get things properly sorted this weekend. Got a good talking-to off Mr Snoop, who quite rightly told me I was being too ambitious and to just stop already with the digging and just make do with what I've got. So, that's what I'll do and he's going to brush-cut a load of weeds down for me. So a very productive session so far today.

Jobs for this evening: finish off the courgette and squash bed and plant out the courgettes, plus start off some more and the squash. Finish weeding and digging over the pepper and aubergine bed.

          • Good morning all from a bright but very windy dayhere in Dublin. Some domestic chores for me today, washing and Ironing.
Have a guy coming in this afternoon to drill the wall and put up the rails for my curtains.
Need to catch up with a very close friend ( my grandkids payernal grsndmother) who has just been disgnosed with advanced lung cancer. Dreading the meeting as I really dont know what to say to her.
After that we will see how the day works out.
            Have a good day all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

              • Good afternoon all.

Another rainy day here in Leeds - and looking that way for the rest of the week.

I hope all those people who were complaining for rain are happy, because I am not!

Had a difficult snail day yesterday - she the what I did today thread - but fairly back to myself today.

Hope all are well and behaving!

                    • Good afternoon, sunshine and showers today, was out a walk with the dog earlier, she is usually quite an obedient dog but she spotted a couple of deer and off she went,(funny how female's don't listen when they see something they want ) and I was scrambling through trees and bushes to try and find her, when finally she came back she was dragging her leg, and the heavens had opened up, I was soaking and she was black though the rain did help clean her a bit, this was three hours ago and now she is walking fine, I'm beginning to think I was suckered by her. Watching the grandsons just now with the hearing aid off, drumming, guitar and telly turned up, and praying for patiance, well better go just now, enjoy the rest of the day

                      • Rary, our soiree will include wine, gin, Bacardi and Prosecco, there is also a bottle of champers in the garage fridge if anyone wants some.
Nibbles will be served if anyone gets peckish during the evening, sandwiches, sausage rolls, chicken drumsticks etc
Out of the four of us, two have work in the morning, but historically they are the pair that partake of the alcohol the most lol. Also the loudest.
                        Have a nice evening folks

                        • I needed plants (flowers) for my troughs and hanging baskets. Specifically in 3 instances dahlias. My son gave me 2 for my birthday so I need 3 more. He bought his £4 each or 2 for £5. He's not mean, I had another pressie from him. He knew I used to grow them when he was growing up. The price they were charging was too much so I will think about it and either put something else in the other 3 baskets or look elsewhere. My other purchases were veggies. I had raised them from seed but my daughter put them at the bottom of the garden without being in their tray that has copper tape round it. I think the slugs and snails had a party with nibbles laid on.

I hope they are safe overnight as I can't park close enough to unload them. I was looking forward to putting them in their pots and troughs this evening.

                          • It's lovely here this evening, but now starting to feel the midges, so will need to look out the skin so soft, which can be quite handy as if my wife smells anything I can say that's what it is , made up an other couple of baskets and need to start on my pots and containers, oh and also used my first lettuce that's growing outside tether than the greenhouse, and it might be my imagination but they taste seems so much better. Well I am off to read a book, so enjoy your day tomorrow and pass on a smile, and VC behave your self. Goodnight
