  • Rary - sorry to hear about Mrs Rary and I hope that she recovers soon, for a moment I was really shocked when I read you paid for the meal until I got to the part where she let you go into her purse for the money. I thought the shock may have taken you back to the hospital.

    Have a great day everyone

      • Sorry to hear about Mrs Rary, Rary.

And very sorry to read about the wind damage everyone has suffered. I keep looking at the sprout plants and thinking we'll have a good year for Brussels... so long as we don't get a devastating storm. The weather can really set us all back.

Anyway, after that trite thought for the day, not much to report here. Got a bed of sweetcorn sowed yesterday and some more beds ready and waiting for plants. More to do this evening and then I should be up to speed at long last. All thanks to Mr Snoop, I have to say.

Other than that, more paid drudgery today but still looking forward to a long weekend of sowing and watering.

        Have a good day, guys.

            • Thanks for the kind thoughts folks, and yes VC can do the washing up but definitely not cleaning or ironing, and Cad there are limits to how deep I can get into my pockets, when I am out in company, we have rain today but fortunately no wind (I watch what I eat nowadays) so nice to see you back SusieG, enjoy your day everyone and Cad. I hope things start to improve on the chair lift front, now I will need to go and prepare breakfast, first I will need to find out how you get water into the kettle then do you pierce the top of an egg before you boil it
              answers awaited urgently

              • Morning all, sorry to hear about Mrs R's accident
Dull out today, not a gardening day really.
Bought a hanging basket from Lids, my effort this year has failed dismally. Also bought another two petunia plants to replace the trailing geraniums. Epic fail for them.
So many half dead plants at Lidls, no one waters them obviously ....
Work later, have a great day.
                Rary, enjoy your domestic chores

                • Afternoon all,

So sorry to read about your wife's broken wrist, Rary. I hope she is not in too much pain.

Bit of a cold and windy day. Feeling a bit down about the garden as so many onions are bolting and I wonder how many will make it to full size Runner beans no where near as good as last year either. I just worry over how much edible stuff there will be after all the hours of work I've put in.

I'm sure it will all work out OK and something will do well! Fingers crossed.

Off to eat a lettuce salad while that is looking in its prime at least!
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

                      • Evening all!
Just had a BBQ and watching the new gals ( chooks) explore before they go to bed!
Been a stonkingly sunny day here....then of course big splodges of wet stuff and thunder whilst we are outside.

                        Ha!
Just watching OH and daughter doing a Benny Hill impersonation around the garden...one of the new chooks has managed to squeeze through the electric fence

                          • Morning Crew - Looks like a nice bright day today out there!

Stannah came yesterday measured up including the wife, went through their options of which there are more off than Acorn and we have placed an order with them. More expensive but comes with a two year guarantee and servicing then £185 per year for annual maintenance and service with parts and labour maintenance call out. I did find a comparison site and Acorn got less than one star and Stannah got nearly the full six on customer ratings and complaints! I wish I had found that site earlier and saved myself a lot of time and trouble.

So we should hear when they will be able to come and fit it early next week and it's likely to be the week after.
