Mornin n'alln'all
My...you do look extra smart today Jay
I'm back off to bed!
Been up a couple of hours to watch the summer solstice, and more ironing whilst it's cool.
Whatever else I do today, one thing for sure is that I'll be going for a swim!
Gosh, yes, I recall 1976 too Flo. A level Year-trying to study in rediculously hot weather, sitting in full sun during the exams, water restrictions, followed by a really heavy snowfall in the winter!
Have a great day all...keep cool and top up yr fluids

Morning all, well we are starting off much cooler this morning there is a little cloud cover but if that burns off I guess we will be baking our backsides off again. Lots to do today work wise and now SHMBO has volunteered for me to pick up my brother-in-law from Epsom Hospital after the surgery on his hand as he can not drive after it.

Good morning raining here at present was raining at 5 when I got up so looks like a day of heavy showers in front of us here, and as for 1976 I remember that year as well very warm walking to school and we went to Scarbrough a roaster, and Jay I suppose I will be coming to that age too where its to warm for doing anything but sit in the shade

Morning all, another hot day for us down south
1976 was the year I met my hubby, remember it well
Off to London later, I stupidly booked tickets for a gig there, when it wasn't a heatwave lol. It's in a basement under Oxford street, air con what's that? Let's hope there are fans or something.
Oh, and we to traverse the underground to get there.
Hopefully I will report that it's all,OK tonight.

Morning from sunshiny SW - with a nice breeze. 36 in the GH and 27 outside in the shade
I was up early this morning - 7.30 (that's early for me), clean clothes & breakfasted ready to take my neighbour with the broken shoulder to hospital for a check up. Phone rings, she's not feeling well so appointment cancelled. So I'm back in my gardening clothes ready for another day of shade gardening.
Don't want to wish for rain but I am. Overnight would be nice with sunshiny again tomorrow.
As for 1976, the year of the big drought and "Save water, share a bath". Remember it well. Don't think they meant with the neighbours though
Have a great day whatever the weather!

Things didn't go quite according to plan this morning.
Got up, started gardening and was then informed I'd been volunteered to go to the market. So, didn't get much done at all, frustratingly.
One of my local friends came round to give me yet more tomato plants. I have 40 already and there are just two of us here most of the summer. Anyway, I'll plant a few to show willing. And seeing as I'll be setting up that bed for toms, I might as well add a few more plants in the same family, so now have some yellow pepper plants and white aubergines (which Mr Snoop likes), to join all the other pepper and aubergine plants. I'm a glutton for punishment - the watering already takes an hour and a half to two hours a day! I find it quite easy to hit my 10,000 steps a day at this time of year...
Anyway, have a good day everyone. Stay cool, literally and figuratively.
Just finished some ironing, and need to take note that some shirts should not be worn near a fire as they seem to burn quite easily A wife with a broken wrist is sore

The word family in the link refers to it's own family. I quite like the moment when the second one to the rescue gives Mum a big "get over there you big ninny" kind of shove.
