Afternoon Folks, still not very nice here we went to pick up our granddaughter and take her for her lunch during her lunch break, and now she will be coming for her tea tonight, her mum's away on holiday and she left enough food for her, but gran needs to make sure she has enough to eat I think I will be putting the fire on in the greenhouse as the temperature today is down at 13c , not very good for growing things, though my cabbage and garlic have done well enough, enjoy the day try not to work too hard

Evening Rary and all,
Yes weird weather goings on with some baking hot days and very chilly nights. No idea what the poor plants make of it all!
Nice to see courgettes and marrows coming along well. Just spied the first outdoor tomatoes starting to ripen. Indoor ones already eating but not nearly enough of them!
Sad news about the mods leaving. Wasn't anticipating that one.
Got a bad bout of annoying hiccups so need to go!LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

^^^^It didn't work for me, I was pulling my wife's earlobe earlier, trying to get earrings in and my hiccups didn't stopLast edited by rary; 04-07-2017, 09:24 PM.it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Thank you Snoop. I will try this next time - all gone now. Hiccups are so annoying. I've never heard of that method before - sounds better than being scared or shocked which never seems to work on me.LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Good evening Folks, dry but cold outside, have been trying to fix my water hose, and now realise how angry I am about it so will be on the rant thread shortly.
Snoop couldn't resist that last post, and yes if I get hiccups I will give that a try, the pup is now beginning to settle in, and she's also starting to do as she is told (now there's a sentence I never thought I would use) but she goes back home tomorrow, and yes I will miss her, dogs are good companions, if I locked my dog and my wife in a hut for several hours, the dog would still be pleased to see me went out with a shirt that hadn't been ironed today, and it looked fine the only reason my OH knew was she had seen it on top of the ironing pile, I keep waiting for Bren or Jay or one of the more domesticated Grapes to pop by and do a bit of ironing for me, mind you I am also waiting for a squadron of flying pigs to do a fly past, perhaps that will be the more likely thing to happen. Enjoy tomorrow, and pass on a smile . GoodnightLast edited by rary; 04-07-2017, 10:16 PM.it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Just for you, rary
Smiling Is Infectious Author Unknown
Smiling is infectious,
you catch it like the flu,
When someone smiled at me today,
I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner
and someone saw my grin.
When he smiled I realized
I'd passed it on to him.
I thought about that smile,
then I realized its worth.
A single smile, just like mine
could travel round the earth.
So, if you feel a smile begin,
don't leave it undetected.
Let's start an epidemic quick,
and get the world infected!

Morning, heck of a night. Dog had a fit when I was upstairs getting ready for bed last night. Came down to a rather messy kitchen...no one heard him, poor soul. I was only upstairs for about 15 mins too! Anyhoo snoozed on the couch to make sure he was ok. Got to sleep around 1.30am, then son comes hairing downstairs half asleep and in a panic at 4.30am as he had a nightmare about snakes...he is terrified of them! Everyone is now sound asleep and here I am, been awake since then. Feel like a half shut knife. Anyhoo the good news is it is dry outside! Yay, wonder how long that will last.
Hope you all had a better sleep than me last night and have a great day!
Sounding like a glass half empty kind of person recently...I'm really not, honest!sigpic

Morning all - had a broken night's sleep too, so am all flustered this morning. Doesn't bode well cos I have HUGE amounts to do before my friend arrives tomorrow. Plus visiting a neglected plot...!
Hope your days go better than mine!http://mudandgluts.com - growing fruit and veg in suburbia
