    • Afternoon all. Took the chance of a long lie when it was offered...why do I feel even more tired? it's dull but dry and warm today so not complaining. Not much on the cards but going to have a look at these free sites CG and NS to see if there is anything going, thanks for the tip.

Hope you all have a lovely day.

        • Ended up with quite a pleasant afternoon, no rain as was predicted.
Managed to get a few chores as hubby was out. He's back now making a mess of beautifully clean worktops.
Just undone the kale and sprouts net curtains for a quick look. A white butterfly flippin appeared immediately. Definately won't be taking the nets off anytime soon.
Still no red or vaguely pink tomatoes
Still harvesting Charlottes, not many buckets left now.
The sun is shining, happy days

          • We've had sunshine up until a hour back so I've been out in the garden, don't seem to have a lot to show for it though. I've planted lettuce and some basil that's rooted after being pinched out from the mother plant.

Sally there's been lots of cabbage whites around today

            • Oh yum. Ate my second orange cherry tomato today. Looking round I have lots and lots of tomatoes, green at the moment.

The floor fitters have left a pile of wood on the path and I can't get to the plants to deal with them. The tomatoes need armpitting and tied up to the next level and I need to collect the strawberry runners.

Slightly enebriated as I'm doing a lot of stuff for our town festival next weekend and am feeling lonely and bored. So went to the pub. Doesn't help with the work but I feel better for talking with people.

              • I've decided to try an experiment. I've tried germinating butternut squash seeds twice this year with no success. I know it's late but I'm going to have another go. I love roast BS. The packet says harvest until November so I'll give it a go. They might last longer under cover.

Later..... I've planted the seeds. The packet (Mr Fothergills) said an average of 10 seeds. There were 5 and one of those is distinctly dodgy. So we'll see. I'll keep you posted.

                • Well after a very dull start we had a lovely sunny day.
After church went for some groceries and then to a garden centre.
Bought a big container of mixed flowers for my mothers grave.
Her second anniversary is tomorrow so I will to the cemetary then.
Spent the rest of the evening in the greenhouse. Loads of timatoes ripening now. Looking good.

My mum was scattered near her childhood home 250 miles away from me. It's her anniversary this week and I can't get there.

I'm eating loads of tomatoes for the first time in 12 years. The tumblers are in hanging baskets and are weighing them down. I need to find a way of collecting the strawberry runners from the same baskets. I can't believe it's been so long since I've been able to produce flowers, fruit and veg. And most of them are from freebie seeds from the mag.

                    • Evening
Ended up visiting dad, mum changed her mind this morning ..she wanted to carry on stripping wallpaper.
He was sleepy as normal but fine. Called round at mums after with OH and dog, nephew wife and little boy (7mths) was there. He loves dogs but for peace of mind kept olive on lead as still lively at 7rs and pup like and not so used to little people. Lovely to see them though.
Been on off rainy day ..yuck.
Sky is dark purple at the moment with clouds steaming from the north past our living rm window(faces west).

                          • Well this doesn't happen often but it's a warm night up here. Ate our dinner al fresco tonight which was lovely. We have wooden windows and OH managed to get them all stained today, has been waiting for weeks to try to get them done. Think tomorrow has to be not too bad too.
Enjoy the rest of your evening and will, see you tomorrow! Chin chin.
