Back from the dentists, just a crown to be fitted, the only painful bit was paying for it, £105 for a bit of flippin' plastic. Sun is out so going to see just how tall these sweetcorns are going to grow.

We have wolf spiders, known locally as tarantulas. They're not aggressive and a sight to behold at night because their eyes gleam like sapphires in torchlight.
And then we have these other big, black hairy things, which I was told are also tarantulas by a Brit who claims to know. He could be wrong, I guess.
Edited to add: it's Ischnocolus valentinus, so yes, a real tarantula. But not very aggressive. Body 2.5 cm, legs 5 cm. The ones I saw yesterday weren't as big as this...
I nearly put my hand on one while weeding among the Brussels sprouts of all things! It was the biggest spider I've ever seen, but it was truly beautiful. So shiny! Anyway, I let it go. The rule is: anything in or near the house is a no-no. The only exceptions are us, the dogs and cats, swallows that drift in by mistake and any geckos or lizards.Last edited by Snoop Puss; 25-07-2017, 05:21 PM.

Evening all. Eldest away with grandparents so put youngest in childcare (which youngest was very happy about) & had a day out with OH. went hunting for climbing routes on the cliffs for OH to youngest on and found a few nice ones. Then had lunch out followed by a bike ride and trip to beach. Went to bullslaughter bay, & as it was a low spring tide saw so much of the beach which is almost always covered.
Got in the garden for a bit this evening. Meant to rain tomorrow so will be having a fun day ripping old horrible broken tiles from the bathroom.....
Night all , sleep tight and don't let the tarantulas bite!Another happy Nutter...

Good morning we have heavy rain at present, at my sons while he is at the doctors, then it will be up to my daughter's, and the sooner I am up there the better as I left my hearing aid there last night, when the youngest is playing guitar and drums it handy to be able to take it out but not so good when you say yes to OH, now I have to put down laminate flooring, note to self~ do not say "yes dear" without hearing the question,,,it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.
Member of the Nutters Club but I think I am just there to make up the numbers

Morning all, yesterday turned out lovely and we ate al fresco again...in fact we sat out until almost 10pm when the midges got a bit too much. Cut the back grass and tidied the garden too which was just as well as we have really heavy rain this morning, heaviest it's been for a while, so it's indoor chores for today along with a trip to the supermarket.
Hope you all have a good day whatever the weather.sigpic
