  • Pre-mornin everyone!
Lovely to have OH back home...snoring!

You can tell it's almost autumn cos we have wildlife scuttling about again at night in our roofspace...finding a nice place to stay overwinter!
We'll be hearing the storing if hazelnuts up there soon.
The tree is right next to the house and I always smirk when I hear them accidentally drop a nut and it roll ps down the apex roof insulation.Bit like a scene from Ice Age!

Rary!...you had us all worried there....brill to see you back mate!

Will catch up with everyone soon....sorry, but need borrow the Nurse's hat, gardening cap and chef hat today ....lots to do!

Think I'm put the nightcap back on and see if I can get back to sleep for a bit longer....

Been up since 4.30. Off to work in a few mins. Spent the day yesterday on the plot weeding and planting winter cabbages.

                    • Morning everyone. Very cloudy here and muggy with it. Going to see one of Hannah's friends this morning then have to go into town this afternoon. Got to go and see someone to discuss yet again what I already know.
Planted my asparagus bed yesterday with Han and dug some spuds up. Need to get them up quick as a few of them had slug damage on them. So that could be a weekend job.
                      Have a good day everyone

                      • Well, it's swelteriferous here. Way too hot. And we had lunch outside like mad dogs and Englishmen. Recovering indoors now.

Attempted to drain the well today so a friend could help Mr Snoop clean it out. Assorted logistics problems made it impossible (meaning Mr Snoop wasn't really prepared, but seeing as he knows it I won't remind him), among them the fact that the well kept refilling. There isn't much a huge amount of water in it, but if it keeps refilling once we've taken a lot out, then it looks like it'll keep going till the autumn rains, whenever they decide to turn up.

Back off to the UK tomorrow. See you in a week. Have a good one.

                        • Good afternoon, warm and over cast today, no rain so far but will surly come before the end of the day, Nicos hope OH is doing well, what's wrong, did he disagree with you, it looks like my OH has a strained ligament on her right armament noticed due the pain of the broken left wrist, she now has exercises to do where she extends her arm and puts her hand on the wall and starts her hand climbing the wall, she should manage that no bother, she has me climbing the walls regularly . Sitting here watching two of the grandsons, and oh boy a hearing aid has advantages, as again I have shut it off as the younger one has now got a whistle he is learning to play, no he's now moved to the guitar and plying ghost riders in the sky, I will need to take the dog for a walk see you later
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

                          • Afternoon all. Well Hannah's visit to her friends went well and I have been into town to an appointment. Once again I have got no further but have got yet another form to fill out.
Kids are now at their dads for a few hours and then got to go and pick them up. Han is on a trip with my mom tomorrow and my dad and I are going to take Will out for a bit and treat him to dinner. He is very excited about this for some reason.
                            Have a good afternoon everyone

                            • Should have asked, as I will be heading to the Lake District shortly, are there any attractions or gardens that Grapes would recommend to visit?
