  • I have forgotten what 'spare time' is. My daily routine has been up before 6, morning routine with the kids, work (which has been an intense deluge of demands for reports), pickup kids, feed kids, bedtime kids, feed DH and at 9pm or thereabouts start work on one of the two voluntary things I do... either spreadsheeting finances or writing business plans and funding applications until the small hours. Weekends have been a mix of packing up half the house before the plasterers move in next week, or packing up what feels like the other half of the house for holiday, with occasional dashes to the plot.

What makes me happy? Yesterday I finished the last of the urgent reports for work. I have packaged up and passed on everything that needs touching while I'm away. Last night I finally got up to date enough on the voluntary work. I finished the last cheque, the business plan and the funding application. This morning at 5.30am I went to the plot and got everything ready to survive without me for a bit.

Tomorrow we go on holiday. I have told everyone I will not be back in regular email contact till September.

I am caught up, and I am freeeeeeeeee!

                      Really healthy looking specimens too!

Gardening express had em on offer, normally £50 a piece, but reduced to 3 for £20

                      Well chuffed!

I presume so Potty, although I think it could be a fair few years before one of them got anywhere near bearing fruit if at all.

                            • I just HAD to share this with you!
                              I laughed til I cried!

We were invited to a friend's house for a meal this evening....6 of us chatting afterwards in the lounge and at 11.30 pm ( the lass who's house we went to) one of her cats started meowing really loudly and insistently.
The chatting stopped and we all looked at the cat in the doorway....
She'd only gone and brought her 'mommy's' nightie down 3 flights of stairs!....
                              ......"Time for bed mommy!"
                              How sweet was that?
And yep, her bedtime is usually 11.30!

Don't you just love how our pets interact with us?

                              • We have a German Shepherd who apart from sitting when asked, is a free spirit and doesn't do anything else to command.
What she does do though is if I have had her out for walk and its raining, when we get back she runs straight into the bathroom and grabs a towel (usually one of the 'best' towels) and drags it through for me to dry her. My other dog, a Siberian Husky just looks at her as if she is mad because he hates being dried!
