      signs of ageing

      First grey hair: aged 17
      Varicose vein: 21
      age when I really began to regret using permanent hair dye: 35

      It's going to be all grey by the time I'm 40 so that gives me a couple of years to go from long red-brown hair with silver roots to long silver hair.
      Trouble is, it's going to look a bit odd with the black eyebrows!
      Fortunately, the varicose vein has never got any worse. Might have my other hobby to thank for that.
      The mr has developed extra-long curly eyebrow hairs. I think they're cute. Maybe that's the biggest sign of all that I'm getting on a bit!

      I only feel old when my young colleagues at work talk about how much they drank and how late they stayed up and still made it into work next day.

      no less than the trees and the stars;
      you have a right to be here.

              I'm 35, and my hair's been going steadily more grey/white for the last 10 years.. My OH is getting all stressed coz he's getting white in among the black, and I just don't get it...??!! How can people say "I'm not old enough to have grey hair/wrinkles/creaky joints/hair growing out of ears.." ?? I'm sorry, but quite obviously you are, or you wouldn't have them!!!
              In my opinion, the world is far, far, far too obsessed with 'staying young', but basically what it means is they want to be immortal. Well, shock news here - no one is immortal, we're all gonna die one day, even if you manage to stretch the wrinkles out of your face, and dye your hair til you're 93...! So, best thing to do is be a nice person, enjoy your life where it is, and look forward to agelessness in the after-life..

              Soz for the rant, but this is something that gets my goat everytime an anti-wrinkle cream advert comes on the telly (very 5 mins then...!!).

                  Can do that but still not sure I want to sit on you knee!!!!!!

                  Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

                  Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

                    At 18 I had what I lovingly referred to as my 'Mortitia streak' - now at 44 it isn't a streak, it just 'is' so I choose what colour to be every couple of months, the variety is great! But I also agree with Sarah - grow old (dis)gracefully, having one wrinkle more or less surely won't make you any more or less happy? I like the quote, I think it was Mae West but am prepared to be corrected, about not dying gracefully but sliding sideways and headlong into the coffin shouting 'woohoo, what a ride THAT was'!

                        Just about qualify myself but not sure if I'd sit on any Santa's knee nowadays unless he's had a full 'police check' etc.

                          Full police check? Does that mean getting frisked then? By some nice looking WPC? What? Eh? Phwoar!
