Where do the odd socks go??

My OH has started pairing up his socks before putting them in the laundry bag as previously some tended to go awol. Needless to say, some still go awol despite me sticking my head into the washer, rotating the drum, looking on the floor (including the cats' dish) and nope! Where do they go?

Aha! Not only can Big Brother hack into my TV, Smart Phone (if I had one) and other media devices, they can also vapourise the odd sock from my washer. Is this because they have a cunning plan for which they need to use them for some malfarious purpose, to up the current price of wool (we're supposed to reduce the use of plastics so are using synthetics going to be banned in the future?) or, as they're not my socks and my OH just puts his washing on the floor for the magic fairy to deal with, do I really care!

I think they disappear through cracks in the space time continuum to a magical place inhabited by odd socks, biros and the red straws from cans of WD40.

There must be a planet somewhere that only has childrens TV to entertain the masses. All odd socks are. like Martin said whisked off through a Mobius loop to this planet so they can be made into various forms of hand puppet.

Every few weeks OH or me go through the sock bag finding pairs, but it never gets less than half full......
