One inch diameter holes

Anyone any idea what can be making these in my grassland

definitely no mole-hills but holes in some cases about10 ins. apart with connecting channel near to the surface

A hole of 1" in diameter is most likely to be mice, but do not rule out rats or voles - the latter esp if near water of any kind - pond, ditch, boggy area. See holes this size all the time at work and we find all three beasties as above

Yep, reckon they are mouse holes, not to be confused with moose holes which are considerably larger!

Our dog's called Moose Sal (well it should be Meg but some how she got called Moose) A the holes she used to dig are the reason I don't have a lawn now
