  • Growbags In Place of MPC?

Sorry for what may be a silly question but can a person (whose on a budget) use growbags such as the one below in place of mpc? For example to help fill a raised bed.

Homebase Medium Grow Bag - 30L

It does say to "use within packaging" but what would happen if it was used to partly fill a raised bed?

    Cheers

Use it - it'll be fine for what you want.

I don't see a problem using it in your raised beds. It's just the same compost but in a bag designed for people who want to grow tomatoes or whatever so they can cut holes in it and plant them.
I work very hard so please don't expect me to think as well!

I used nothing else last year, was very satisfied with it, our stock has just come in so of later this week for some.

I use it when it works out cheaper than a 'standard' bag of compost - at the local garden centre they generally start to stock the cheaper growbags from about now. (Not that I'm tight fisted or anything)

It will be fine for your intended use.

                Only one problem.

Sainbugs has been taken over, they no longer sell any Homebase branded products. We were told in store today ignore the web site, it all needs updating.

I think the verve 150 litres works out cheaper at Just under £7 a bag and choice of peat free or peat at the same price. It's quite a heavy though.

That's just his new shoes! Something I've remembered from the back of my mind says shoes that squeak mean you haven't paid for them. Tight-fisted? Think you've been found out!
