    Could be bed bugs.

Don't want to be a scare monger, but I read in the paper the other day that a relative of the black widow spider (yes, that one!) is now in our country. Apparently it is quite small, but it has a really nasty bite and the blighter hisses at you!!! You are supposed to report any sightings, well, I'll report any sightings I make, but the b*****s will be under a brick!

          Thanks Headfry.

The swelling has gone down a lot even since last night (I looked like I had pregnant lady fankle). Now it is still swollen, but looks like I've been in a kick-boxing tournament, bruised and red all over.

The nurse put me on double strength antibodies - 2 to be taken four times a day, which meant no alcohol this weekend, boo! I was also advised not to walk on it, which on Friday night was not an issue because I couldn't walk on it - it felt like I'd broken my foot. I was also tol to stay out of the sun as much as possible.......

When I saw the nurse on Friday she said I shouldn't of left it as long as I had to go and see her - it was already "tracking" up my leg. It looked like I had sunburn about halfway up my shin. She told me to keep an eye on it, and if the skin broke down, if the wound turned black, or if I had any swelling under my arms, or any glands, to phone straight away or go to A&E.

She then said she's book another appointment for me to go and see her again, when she checked her book she said "well, we can't do anything on Monday, but if you make it to Monday, you'll make it to Tuesday" - which was quite amusing (she said it in a rather jovial manner deliberately).

Funny you should mention black widows zebedee, one of the chaps at work said to me last week "you sure it wasn't a black widow". To which I replied the fact that I was still here indicated to me that it wasn't...

Just taken a couple of photos of my foot using my phone - the colour looks a bit off, but I guess you get teh picture?

Well, been to see the nurse this morning - got a bit of a telling off for going into work yesterday. She's a little "disappointed" about the bruising, and wants to keep an eye on it so I've got to go back at the end of the week. I've been told to rest it, and not do too much.

She said these things can get serious, and by serious, she means hospital - her words.

It was only a lil bug too!

You have an allergic reaction to whatever has bitten you. If you were in Africa rather than here I would have said it was a stinking ant bite. They are huge and always leave this kind of swelling. England is not yet suitable weather wise for the maleria carrying mosquito. Thank G I've had malaria on more than 1 occasion as have many of my family and it is lifge thjreatening. Take care and soak some comfrey leaves and put them on top to soothe the swelling.

Deeed di did dip deep di did dip - News bulletin - the swelling on my foot has gone down considerably over night, still looks bruised, but is a lot easier to walk on. Join me later, for the evening bulletin.

Hazel, I know what you mean, but the longer I'm off the more work I have to go back to - I don't have anyone else in my team - I am the marketing department. That said, I'm glad I eventually headed the nurses advice.
