  • Spud advice and winter radish recipe request

Since I lost all my spud crop I am having to buy the darned things - that hurts!

Today I bought a half bag of Desiree. They have sort of flaky skin (if that makes sense). If I spread them all out on a dry patio for an hour or two, will the skins harden off and make them better for storing or is it not worth the bother?

Also, I bought a winter radish at Lidl earlier this week. It is around 18 inches long! Now I just need some advice on what to do with it - clean suggestions only please

    Cheers peeps.

I've got winter radish growing, I seem to remember that you can use them like turnips? Or at least I hope so, don't know what else I'll do with them!

Thanks Sue, will try it lightly steamed with butter and black pepper and let you know how it goes. There is enough to try some roasted too.
